My Clay Jewelry

I started making jewelry about 5 years ago. I started using polymer clay, which you can bake in your home oven. Polymer clay is very versatile. I was amazed with the professional jewelry I have seen made with this clay. I started with doing black and white transfer images, and creating earrings, pins and necklaces.

These are just a few samples of the jewelry. Getting a good transfer was not easy. I'd say about 1/4 to 1/2 of the images would not transfer well. But when I would get a clear image, I was very pleased.


Then I decided to try color transfers. I made a lot of pins and necklaces with images of geisha, cowgirls, fine art images, and more. Though the process for doing color transfers is different than the black and white transfers, there was still a large amount of pieces that did not transfer well. That was frustrating!


These are a few of the color transfer necklaces I made. When the image transfer worked, I was able to make some beautiful finished pieces. Eventually I hope to update my website with my jewelry. The plan is this year. All I have to do is interrupt my very busy husband to help show me how to get started.
