Dolphin Adventure

This may have been the most fun we had on the whole cruise.

While in Puerto Vallarta, Scott and I took an excursion to a place called Dolphin Adventure.

At Dolphin Adventure, you get to experience being up close and personal with dolphins. You get in a pool of salt water and stand on a platform where the water is waist deep with a trainer and their special dolphin. For us, it was Mila, a one and a half year old female Pacific Bottlenose dolphin. and her trainer Francisco.

I was both afraid and excited, from beginning to end. The fear came from not knowing how to swim. The excitement, because this is something I have wanted to do for a while. We were in the pool with 8 other people that felt similar to me.

The first thing Francisco, the trainer did was have Mila swim in between our group and let us all touch her. Her skin felt rather rubbery. I got to ask all kinds of questions about Mila, and what it is like for him to be a trainer.

After a while he had us one by one stand at the edge of the platform and take a photo kissing Mila and feeding her. She was such a sweet dolphin. And then, MIla and 3 other dolphins did some tricks for us, swimmimg backwards, swiming really fast around the pool, and they were all treated to fish snacks in the end, of course.

What an awesome experience. This is something I will remember for a very long time.
